Story from The Desert Sun
Palm Springs Man helping clear landmines in
Cambodia
$100,0000 Grant
received from
United States Department of
State

We are very pleased to announce that on
September 18 we received a grant from
the Office of Weapons Removal and
Abatement to assist CSHD in clearing
explosive remnants of war (ERW) from
rural villages in Cambodia.

This grant is not in lieu of funds received
from other sources.  It is seed money to
help CSHD and its supporters.

$10,000 of the grant can be used to
purchase a new truck (you have no idea
how badly we need one).  The other
$10,000 must be raised by us.

Help us match what the
US Government gave.
They believe - so do we!

Who We Are:
The Landmine Relief Fund is a non profit NGO dedicated to supporting the work of Cambodian Self Help
Demining, the Cambodian Landmine Museum, and its founder, Aki Ra.  We are specifically dedicated to
assisting them in their work of eradicating landmines throughout the country of Cambodia.

How the Money is Used:
The money we collect, from supporters around the world, is used to support the work of
Cambodian Self Help Demining, Aki Ra's new demining organization.
Our charter also allows us to support the work of the Cambodian Landmine Museum and other projects
stemming from either CSHD or the CLLMM.

As of October, 2009 the LMRF will have 2 staff members living in Cambodia.  They are working with CSHD
and the Museum to assist in implementing our Mission and helping CSHD and the Museum meet theirs.
The LMRF is reimbursed for their travel expenses and the federal grant allows them a small per diem to
help offset their living expenses.

Cambodian Self-help Demining NGO
In June we accomplished our task of establishing a new demining NGO  in Cambodia,
run by and for Khmers to clear landmines and UXOs in low priority areas around the Kingdom.  In
December CSHD received their final certification.
